Altana Kollatha Sopot

Altana Kollatha, zwana również Świątynią Kollatha, to wyjątkowe miejsce na mapie Sopotu. Pierwotna wersja budowli powstała w roku 1908, natomiast w latach 50. XX wieku została zburzona. Jej odbudowa i odsłonięcie miało miejsce w 2021 roku.

Powstanie świątyni w 1908 roku wiązało się z upamiętnieniem postaci Johannesa Kollatha - burmistrza Sopotu w latach 1905-1908. Burmistrz zmarł nagle na zapalenie płuc.

Miejsce to miało również stanowić przestrzeń rekreacyjną dla mieszkańców i turystów. Niestety, w skutek podpalenia altana uległa zniszczeniu, a potem została rozebrana.

Odbudowana altana powstała w 2021 roku i powstała, aby upamiętnić 120 lat nadania praw miejskich Sopotu.

Dziś altana oraz teren wokół, stanowi atrakcyjne i malownicze miejsce spacerów i rekreacji.
